A leadership mentorship and academic empowerment movement for middle & high school students. The Josiah Experience is a transformative youth development program crafted to shape the next generation of leaders through intentional mentorship, character formation, and academic excellence. Inspired by King Josiah—who became a world-changing leader at a young age—the program is rooted in the belief that greatness is already present within every young person, waiting to be cultivated and activated.

Rather than functioning as a traditional after-school program, The Josiah Experience is a purpose-driven leadership ecosystem designed to support the whole student: mind, character, identity, academic success, emotional health, and leadership capacity. Students are guided by trained mentors, community leaders, and educators who walk beside them as they build confidence, resilience, and discipline.

Core Pillars of The Josiah Experience

1. Leadership Mentorship

Students participate in weekly leadership sessions focused on personal development, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, communication skills, decision-making, discipline, and goal-setting. Each student is paired with a mentor who provides coaching, accountability, and guidance throughout the year. Mentors act as consistent role models who challenge, encourage, and support students as they navigate life decisions and future planning.

2. Small-Group Cohorts

Students are placed in age-specific and interest-aligned small groups that foster healthy peer relationships, authentic dialogue, and teamwork. These groups provide a safe environment to talk through real-life issues, develop social skills, and build a sense of belonging. Cohorts operate as mini-communities where students grow together, share victories, and learn from challenges.

3. Academic Tutoring & Support

The program integrates one-on-one and group tutoring for core subjects, literacy fluency, writing, and math foundations. Students receive help with homework, test preparation, study skills, organization, and time-management strategies designed to support academic excellence. The aim is not only to improve grades, but to build sustainable scholarly habits and confidence in academic spaces.

4. College, Career & Life Readiness

Workshops and exposure experiences broaden students’ vision of what is possible. Sessions include college exploration, scholarship guidance, career pathway introductions, financial literacy, interview training, and resume development. Students participate in college visits, leadership conferences, community service opportunities, and networking experiences that shape their future trajectory.

5. Character & Identity Development

Students are taught the values of integrity, responsibility, respect, service, and purpose. The program helps them explore identity, self-worth, confidence, and emotional wellness. Through reflective activities, coaching conversations, and community service projects, youth learn that leadership is not just a title—it’s a lifestyle.
